Urban Climate Change Resilience Network (UCCRN) invites individuals to submit a formal expression of interest to take part in a paid, full-day training on the EPIC-N (Educational Partnerships for Innovation in Communities Network) university-local government community-based partnership model. The goal of this training is to tap into under-utilized or untapped local technical capacity.

 

This training will take place on May 3, 2017, immediately prior to the ICLEI Resilient Cities 2017 Congress in Bonn, Germany (May 4-6), within the same venue as the Congress.

 

Successful applicants will be fully funded up to US$4,000, to attend the one-day training on the EPIC-N model, and to also attend the Resilient Cities Congress in Bonn from May 4-6. Upon completion of the training, participants will be awarded a certificate of training. 

 

The training will host a unique opportunity for collaborating pairs of individuals representing municipal governments and nearby universities. The organizers of this training are seeking pairs of candidates - a decision -maker from a local university, capable of driving a new initiative within their university, and a decision-maker from a local municipal/city government from the same locality, capable of driving a new initiative within their local government. These pairs would participate in the training on the EPIC-N Model, with the understanding that they would later become implementers of the model in their own communities.
