Mercy Corps Indonesia through ACCCRN Network program invites its members who are based in Asia to submit papers for the 3rd International Conference on Regional Development (ICRD). Two selected papers will be presented at the event in Semarang, Indonesia, 9-11 November 2016.

In addition to joining ICRD conference in Semarang and trips to Borobudur and Merapi mountain, the winner will also receive a chance to visit ACCCRN urban climate change resilience projects and meet with our local UCCR champions to exchange knowledge and experience.

This opportunity is offerred in partnership with Regional Development and Environmental Management (IRDEM) and Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) Diponegoro University.

The 3rd International Conference on Regional Development (ICRD) aims to provide a medium for exchanges of knowledge, information and experiences regarding the implementation of urban and regional concept around the globe.

This year, the conference will address the theme Enhancing Resilience: Bridging Knowledge and Policy for Cities and Regions

The participants are cordially invited to take a part in the following sub-themes:

  1. Implications of climate change adaptation and resilience for the improvement of livelihoods
  2. Transboundary issues and challenges for frontier and less developed areas

We will select best paper from each topic.

The targeted participants are members of the ACCCRN Network who are based in Asia which already have involved or interested in urban and regional resilience issues, ranging from academics, practitioners, decision-makers, urban and environment experts, social activists, policy advocates, non-governmental organizations and students. 

Timeline

  • 8 August-19 September 2016: Paper submission open to ACCCRN Network members
  • 20-29 September 2016: ACCCRN Network and ICRD team select the papers
  • 30 September 2016: Announcement of two selected papers
  • 9-11 November 2016: Two selected papers will be presented at ICRD 2016

How to submit

  1. Participants should be registered with an ACCCRN member account. If you haven’t registered, you can do so here.
  2. Papers will be accepted from academics, practitioners, decision-makers, urban and environment experts, social activists, policy advocates, non-governmental organizations and students who are based in Asia.
  3. Papers must be your own original work.
  4. Credit should be given for any original material taken from other sources.
  5. You can enter more than one paper.
  6. The attachment must be less than 5 MB. Please include a short biography of yourself (max 100 words) along with the paper(s).
  7. The papers must be in English.
  8. The papers should not exceed 12 pages, including tables and figures (exclude: abstract, references/bibliography and acknowledgement).
