Position: Climate Finance Associate - Governance Center / Adaptation Finance Accountability Initiative

Experience Requirements: 5-7 years’ experience
Required Qualifications:
- Masters in related field (e.g. development studies, environmental policy, climate, finance, etc.)
- Minimum five to seven years of full-time work experience in relevant field, with program implementation and project management experience, of which at least three years is direct experience working in developing countries
- Minimum five years of experience working with civil society organizations on either climate change policy or public finance accountability
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate adaptation and climate finance, including an in-depth understanding of domestic finance management and international finance policy in the context of strengthening resilience of developing countries
- In-depth understanding of domestic public finance management and the international climate finance policy environment and its relevance to adaptation/resilience in developing country contexts
- Exceptionally good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong quantitative, analytical research skills
- Detail-oriented and organized thinker who can juggle multiple, competing priorities
- Strong team player with ability to work across institutional departments/programs
- Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, passionately, and compellingly to a wide range of audiences
- Strong writing skills for both technical and general audiences
- Experience overseeing and managing budgets
- Ability to travel, especially internationally, approximately 20% of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong network of relationships and partnerships with major climate finance donors, governments, civil society, and other stakeholders engaged in adaptation finance policy and practice
- Experience with external communications and/or donor management
- Knowledge and experience with monitoring and evaluation methods and techniques
- Fluency in French or Spanish
