Zilient.org will host the webinar: "Slum Dwellers Count: Knowledge, Data and Action!", featuring the Resilience Measurement, Evidence and Learning Community of Practice (CoP) Open Innovation Award winners and their unique approaches to advancing resilience evidence, practice and investments.

Join us Monday, February 26
14:00 GMT (9:00 EST)

The event is free and will be streamed on Zilient’s Facebook page. As always, if you register to attend via Zoom you can submit questions beforehand and participate in the live discussion.

The discussion will address:

  • How Slum Dweller International’s (SDI) Know Your City initiative mobilizes slum dwellers to collect their own data, profile their settlements and create partnerships with cities around this data
  • How SDI and Global Infrastructure Basel's (GIB) analysis of this data has the potential to influence decisions and investments related to large infrastructure investments, through the use of GIB’s Standard for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure (SuRe®) Smartscan
  • How linking urban planning and investment with real-time, local data can benefit development and investment at local, national, and global levels, focusing currently on African cities in the 100RC network
  • How SDI, 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) and Itad are working in Cape Town and Accra to mainstream Know Your City within resilience planning and implementation processes

Panel members will include:

  • Skye Dobson, Director of Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation with Slum Dwellers International (SDI)
