TERI is organising a  conference on ‘Enabling Policy Frameworks for Climate Resilient Cities’ on July 8, 2016 at Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The conference is being organised with support from the Rockefeller Foundation.

The conference marks the completion of TERI’s program: ‘State level policy research and engagement for mainstreaming urban resilience’ supported by the Rockefeller Foundation. The program was conducted in the states of Uttarakhand and Goa with the objective of supporting the state governments in identifying entry points and preparing a policy roadmap for bringing in urban climate resilience within the states. The key messages from our experience has been synthesized and documented in policy briefs and a working paper which will be released during the conference.

The objective of the conference is to facilitate a discussion on addressing climate change concerns in public policy and planning at multi levels of governance for building urban climate resilience.

A panel discussion during the conference will facilitate a dialogue that explores the integration of climate change resilience in the smart cities discourse in India.
